One of the most common concerns I hear as a St. Louis pet photographer is:
“I would love professional photos… but my dog won’t sit still.”
If that sounds like you, you’re not alone—and more importantly:
Your dog does NOT need to be perfectly trained to have beautiful photos.
Some of the best images I’ve captured came from dogs who:
had endless energy
didn’t know basic commands
were easily distracted
Because pet photography isn’t about perfection—it’s about timing, patience, and understanding your dog’s personality.
Every session is tailored to your dog.
Whether they’re energetic, shy, or stubborn, I adjust by:
working quickly when moments happen
using treats and sounds to grab attention
capturing natural, in-between moments
Sometimes your dog is only still for a split second—and that’s all I need.
A session isn’t about forcing your dog to behave.
It’s about:
letting them explore
taking breaks when needed
creating a relaxed, pressure-free environment
That’s when their real personality shines—and those are always the most meaningful photos.
The moments you’ll love most are often the ones you don’t expect:
the way they look at you
how they lean into you
their ears perking up at your voice
These are the moments that truly capture your bond.
If you’ve been putting this off because your dog “isn’t ready”… don’t wait.
They’re already perfect as they are.
